This is Granliden - our old summer place. A small cabin that my grandfather built in 1955 and the location on where the wool for the famous Granliden Mittens was dyed with forest plants and vegetables in 1982. We don't own this place any more, and in my mind the memories of Granliden has begun to take on mythical proportions... I took this polaroid on one of my little secret visits to the dearest place I know.

  2. it feels sad to loose something like this, a house with so many family stories and myths. i wish that kind of place could always stay safe and close... but i am glad you have made your own little secret visits back to it! this is a beautiful photograph, looks just like a memory to me.

  3. I'll keep making my secret visits to this place... My plan is to one day buy it back. It's owned by some relatives we don't know so well, and they are hardly ever there, which is a waste of my favourite place I think. On the other hand this loss is a huge source of inspiration, so it is not only bad I guess :)

  4. it is a good thing then that you might have to wait a while to get it back - you can keep the inspiration to feed you in the meantime, and then when your plans are ready you'll hopefully have the house back. it is a win - win situation! ;)
